LG Optimus GT540: Overview


Few days back LG had announced that it will soon be launching many new mobile phones under the banner of Optimus. The first in the series will be LG Optimus GT540, which is aimed at entry level users. LG Optimus GT540 runs on Android 1.6 operating system. Andy Rubin, Vice president for Engineering at Google had recently confirmed that Android will soon find its way in cheaper mobile phones of LG and will be focused on India and China.
LG Optimus GT540 is a GSM phone with display size of 3 inch (320 x 480) with dimension of 109 x 54.5 x 12.9. It supports internet, Wi-Fi and email. Since it is targeted at entry level users it just has a 3 megapixels camera. LG Optimus GT540 is a touchscreen phone with MicroSD, which can be extended up to 32 GB. Other features include 3.5 audio jack, video recording, bluetooth, USB, and mp3 player.

LG Optimus GT540 also has automatic account synchronisation with all Google mobile services and access to Android Market. The phone also provides users with assisted GPS and a 1500mAh battery.

LG has also revealed that LG Optimus GT540 will be followed by LG Optimus One, which will be running on Android 2.2 (Froyo). Another interesting announcement on LG blog claims that LG will soon be launching its first tablet which will be running on Android platform.
